Chimney Point State Historic Site

On the site of a French settlement dating to 1731, Chimney Point has witnessed the changing fates of the Champlain Valley. Opposite Crown Point, New York, the site was used by American and British forces during various phases of the Revolutionary War between 1775 and 1777. A 1785 tavern dominates the landscape where the State Historic Site presents history from the earliest Native American inhabitants through the birth of the United States.
