A conference by Luc Nicole-Labrie, Historical Mediation Coordinator and Marie-Noël Grenon, Mediation Activities Coordinator of the National Battlefields Commission

April 7, 2025

Quebec City 1775-1776: The last siege presents the last direct attack by an enemy army on Quebec City. This attack was at the heart of the first campaign led by the rebels of the Thirteen Colonies against the British crown in the first months of the American War of Independence (1775-1783). Historian Luc Nicole-Labrie proposes four main steps to discover the impact of this conflict around Quebec City. From Arnold’s expedition to the Battle of Quebec on December 31, 1775, to the tension experienced by the population in the fall of 1775 and the winter of 1776, discover the history of this campaign with the help of a witness of the time, Marie Deland, an innkeeper.
